      It depends on the model. The HDMI/VGA to HDBaseT Wallplate is designed to handle both a modern HDMI laptop and an older VGA laptop, and many versions auto-detect the active input — they prioritise HDMI and switch to VGA when no HDMI signal is present.

      Some models also offer a manual selection button. I would confirm the auto-switch behaviour for the exact wallplate model you are ordering, so your users can simply plug in either laptop without touching anything.
